The computer in question is running Mandrake Linux 8.0, is connected to the internet through a dial-up connection, and is serving as a gateway/firewall for a few other computers in my home. I have Samba running on it to ease filesharing over the local network, and prior to running Bastille, it worked fine. However, after running it, I can no longer make outbound connections.
The box in question is named weltall. For example, the box I'm currently on is named xenogears, and I have it sharing a directory of mp3s at //xenogears/mp3 that is readable by everybody. If I type:
mount.smbfs //xenogears/mp3 /mnt/mp3 -o username=none,password=none,ro
Previously it would mount it properly. However, now it replies with:
Connection to xenogears failed
SMB connection failed
It will still accept incoming connections, though. For instance, I have it set up to share //weltall/home , which maps to the home directory of the user connecting. It will connect to itself fine, and other machines can access it.
Any idea of what might be causing this, or what I should modify to fix it? I haven't changed anything else on any computer..
