need help w/domain login on a win2k

i can't get my 2k box to logon? "The following error occured attemting to join the domain "local": The procedure is out of range"? I've followed all on the steps on samba's site and have no clue what's goin wrong? Oh ya i'm running samba ver. that installs w/redhat 7.1! and win2k service pk 2
