Hello,

I'm running redhat 7.0, and I'm trying to get the mysql server to start up on boot. I have a script that I can use to run the server but I don't know what to do to get the script to run on boot. Help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if there is a big diference from RH7 - 7.1
(i use RH7.1) but i got mine to run at bootup by using Linuxconf->control/ then expanded the control panel listing, next clicked "control service activity".
in there i just found the Mysql in the list of daemons and told linux to start and set to automatic.

use the RPM's if you are using any RPM distro (the RPMs from mysql.com)

they almost always operate better than compiling from source.

if your really good (i.e. know what your doing), get the source RPM and edit the spec file to change the ./configure
