Can anyone recommend a good resource for information on configuring SSH2? I'd prefer something web-based, so I could review it on my other computer, but any suggestions would be welcomed. The readme in the installation lists all the configuration files but doesn't really give good documentation on HOW to set them up, and the NHF on this site only covers SSH1.

I've read thru the man pages but didn't get much more in the aspect of exactly what to put in them (not to mention, I'm nearly blind and may have missed something).

Any help would be appreciated!

Sam

First of all, are you using OpenSSH (which supports the SSH1 and SSH2 protocols), or are you using the non-free "SSH2" program?

I'd really recommend OpenSSH -- even if you're not into the RMS'ian "all software must be free!" stuff, OpenSSH is just flat-out BETTER.

If it's OpenSSH you're using, I can answer basic questions you have about it. I have it working with both the SSH1 and SSH2 protocols.

(By the way -- does anybody know what wound up happening with regards to the OpenSSH project getting in trouble for using "SSH" in the name? The last I heard about it was on Slashdot months ago. No new news.)

The OpenSSH people told ssh communications to go fligh a kite and nothing else happened (it was a very weak claim).

That's what I thought about it. No more news from Mr. SSH? That's good, I guess.
