need more information.
Like :
are you running behind a router?
what distro are you hosting the server on?
did you check to see ifthe linux firewall is set to allow incoming requests at port 80?
and does your ISP filter incoming http ports?
go through that small list to trouble shoot your problem. If it still don't work ask your question again supplying that info and you will find that there are allot of people here that can get you rolling.

In linux i'm running redhat7.2, I don't have a router, and I don't have a firewall setup. I have the same problem in win2k (nobody can see my php pages).

Apache seems to bee working fine in both cases... so i don't believe my isp (COX@home) is blocking anything.

Thank you,
Will

your apache will work fine even if your isp is blocking your server.
At&t who now owns @home "protects their users from code red, nimba ect." by "ATT responded by blocking port 80
on their entire userbase, eliminating cable-based Apache sites as well
as infected Microsoft-IIS machines."
This is not to say that this is the problem But in your investigation into the cause read your @Home terms of service and see if they even allow you to runa web server.

September 2001 Netcraft Web Server Survey (http://www.mail-archive.com/archive@jab.org/msg46758.html)

many pools of infected hosts
were prevented from transmitting or contracting the worm by
effectively removing them from the Internet. Some organizations
chose to remove themselves voluntarily to protect their machines.
Some ISPs disconnected customers who were found to be spreading
the worm, while others blocked traffic to or from port 80.
Neohapsis (http://archives.neohapsis.com/archives/freebsd/2001-08/0373.html)
Hope this info helps you.

I don't think i'm supposed to run a webserver... but my html content goes accross just fine... its just when people try to access my forum it doesn't work. I'm using mysql... I'm not sure what the problem is because I when i run index.php the forum works and i can work in it.

How else could i test if php is connecting ot my database?

How can i test my database to see if the forum installed itself correctly... maybe i should try another forum...

thank you,
will

Your other friends can access your site correct? As in it serves up html pages properly. Ok...

It might be an issue with your cgi scripts not running properly, or having the right permissions.

are your friends getting some kind of error message when they try to access your scripts?

You might want to put a simple test php page up to see if it's working at all.
