Hello...

I'd like to upgrade from NN communicator 4.75 (at least the browser) to a browser which conforms a little more to xhtml1.0 specs.

I installed NN 6.0 and liked it but when I had to patch it for java runtime support, it crashed my system (RH6.2 at the time) and I couldn't start X. Due to my profound ignorance (which hasn't improved much), I had to reinstall from scratch.

I then tried the NN os-independent version (I think it's all in Java) but after install it wouldn't even start.

I even tried lynx for a while but found the lack of images unworkable.

So would you give me any advice/background on (java-enabled) browser alternatives that conform to recent W3C standards?

Thanks
/j-p.

GALEON! (http://galeon.sourceforge.net) - It uses the mozilla renderer so it has the high quality html output of moz, but a much better interface. I don't care how hardcore mozilla fan one may be, it's worth trying Galeon.
