I am not really sure this is the correct forum for this...but I have a few questions about web based message boards. I downloaded IkonBoard and tried to get it setup and nearly pulled my hair out before I got it set up correctly. All the chmod'n and copying files here and there was very tedious. I know by default that root cannot log in via ftp. But...I am doing this message board on a private network here at work and it would be so much easier for me if I could just ftp in as root to do all the uploading to the proper places. What would I have to do to be able to ftp in as root? I know this is a big security NO NO but I am just wondering is all.
