How can i "traffic manage" internet under linux, (im using the newest version of mandrake).

Short Story: We have LAN, we need to give every user only 128kb each.. how can we to this.. what app can we run... we try to use:
"Internet>Server>Switch" but need speed limit/"Traffic management".

Long Story:
We have some times LAN with friends.. 40-50ppl and we have 10mbit internet, but we have to get a server that can give out / limit the speed to like: 128kb to every user.. (or higher) but how can I do this? We need to get a limit cause if someone uses a download accelerator; he will use much of the bandwidth given by then ISP we use.. but if we use: "Internet>Server>Switch" it can be limited to every user, but question is how?

Please help...

Squid (www.squid-cache.org) is excellent for this. It is a caching proxy server + bandwidth limiting + buncha archive mailing lists that you can search to find our answers quickly (from their website)

the actual feature you want to look into is called: delay_pools
