I can't seem to get snort to start at boot-up. How do I do this? I've tried a few scripts out there, but when I reboot my machine just hangs. I have to reboot in failsafe mode, remove the script from /etc/rc.d/init.d and then reboot in order to fix the hang problem. Where's a good script for Mandrake 8?

Thanks,

Since you're using a Redhat-based dist, you can just add the commands you'd use to start Snort to the /etc/rc.d/rc.local. You don't really need a full init script. The RPM package probably comes with a full init script, though.
