FoBoT 08-17-2001, 09:48 PM it affects internet information server, but i heard that cisco uses IIS in some routers, and they aren't as easy to patch as a regular winders box no linux though glowworm 08-18-2001, 07:24 AM I have a cisco router, and the update was fairly simple, about as complicated as flashing your bios..atleast for me FoBoT 08-18-2001, 08:38 AM Originally posted by glowworm: was fairly simple, about as complicated as flashing your bios.. yes, exactly, for some people , that is tooo complicated ;) Craig McPherson 08-29-2001, 12:40 AM CISCO routers running IIS? I've never heard of that. Are you sure? I know some routers and other devices got knocked out by the worm, but they weren't infected by it -- they just choked to death on the bad HTTP. Yes, the worm only affects IIS. On Linux, however, you CAN put a happy little script on your web server that'll automatically reboot or otherwise trash any infected system that tries to connect to your box. justlinux.com
