how would one go about starting a linux user group? there aren't any that i know of around here. (Central Indiana) but i want one

Make a website and advertise in a linux mag then arange stuff to do that would interest your members
i.e. going out and getting very drunk and going for a curry.

well, getting drunk would be entertaining... but it's sorta against the law for me... for another 4 years... but others could i guess..

Also, I think there's a bunch of groups that register LUGs. I know there's one here in Canada, and there's probably state-level ones in the states, if there isn't a national one. Sign up with them, as I know at least some people look for a LUG that way.

There are probably plenty of others out there. Are there any local colleges in your area? Often There will be a LUG associated with the college. Good Luck.
