Finally got Quake3 running. But I noticed something. When I specify a resolution smaller than my GUI res, the actual 'play screen' shrinks to the bottom left corner, and I get what looks like bits and pieces of what looks like my desktop and what I last did using GL. It is still very playable, just with a tiny screen and annoying **** around the edges. I can specify my desktop res (1024x768) and it is all very pretty. This doesnt phase me in the least. But what will happen if I play a game *NOT* using 1024x768 res. I will get this crap.

So, the question is, how do I fix it?

...oh Nvidia card w/latest updates.

Is the smaller resolution available in your XF86Config-4 file?

Under Section "Screen", the Subsection "Display" for the bitdepth you're using, there should be a list of resolutions (the line is "Modes ..."). Add the resolution you want to run the game at to the end of this list.

Then you can use Ctrl-Alt-keypadPlus and Ctrl-Alt-keypadMinus to switch between these resolutions.

Hey yeah! That didnt even occur to me...

Well, I'm at work so I'll try it first thing when I get home.

Thanks for pointing out that rather obvious point :D
