It will be shipping later this month!
The downside - no linux version for sale, but, the binaries will be available for download.

Yeah.. I would have bought a Linux version, too. RtCW test works /great/ on my computer...

No linux version to buy! Afaik... I think it's gonna be just binaries. That AIN'T fine. There ain't no linux sales to count!!! Other than that, it's cool... But I ain't gettin'... Just don't tickle my fancy.

Ideally, wouldn't they put the windows and linux binaries on the same cd? Assuming there is room, of course.

Tuxgames will probably package both and sell it. That will be a way to count the Linux buyers. Buy the game from a Linux dealer.

well for a dual booter it is nice that I don't have to buy both to run it in windows and linux, saves me what little money I have.

When UT shipped, the developers wanted to ship the Linux binaries on the CD. The suits at the top decided that they wouldn't ship the Linux binaries because they didn't want to support the game on Linux. Probably the same scenario here.

I don't know about this company, look at every single game they made from quake up they have all gone linux retail. I think thouse fat cats u speak of would only turn out to be the game developers cause what they say usually goes.

Only Linux retail from id has been Quake3, and that was thru Loki. All of their other Linux support has been via downloaded binaries, which is cool.
There is a note over at linuxquake.com about tuxgames packaging 2 cds for wolf, one with the win32 game and one with the Linux binaries. They will then report all sales back to id/activision regarding Linux support.

I've seen Quake 1 and 2 retail for Linux, they came out after the Windows version, but they did come out. Not sure if it was through Loki or not.

I personally own Soilder Of Fortune, Rail Road Tycoon, and Quake 3 for Linux (all retail). I have seen Quake I and II, and also a few other retarded looking games at the local EB. I live in Norfolk VA. Maybe the games just didn't retail in many areas. Who knows.
