I really wanna fix this. ='(
Read the HOWTO. Did the _snd_mixahead thingie (and tried different values). No change whatsoever.
I already have arts disabled, and I just disabled alsa, too.
How do I fix this?

Try a value other than the example. It might help to tell us your system specs.

I've tried other values.. even as high as 1.0... but stuff like that tends to crash Half-Life. Okee.. specs:
T-Bird 800MHz
512MB RAM
GeForce 2 MX 400
Linux Mandrake 8.1
Sound Blaster 256LIVE!
Latest wine packages..
Like I said.. I've put in different values other than the standard 0.23 that it calls for... no noticeable difference, and if I get too extreme, Half Life crashes.. so... help?

*sigh*
Okay. I've tried values from 1000.0 to 0.0000000000001 and NOTHING has worked. There has been NO change whatsoever in the delay of the sound no matter WHAT I put in.
I'm about ready to call this a lost cause. ='(
*CRIES!* OH SIERRA AND VALVE! WHY OH WHY CAN'T YOU JUST PUT OUT THE DAMN LINUX BINARIES, OKAY?
They better be putting a linux version of TFC2 out or there'll be hell to pay. *stews*

it could be the sound module u are using /wine loads which one are u using betcha it is one for a similar but not the correct module for it. Then sound driver should be listed in the wine.conf file.

They latest cvs snapshot of winex at sourceforge fixes this issue specfically.
The rpm at transgaming also is a soulution for this however you must sign up for packages like this. But this shows support for transgaming. The buggy menu,s are also fixed.

Okay.. I managed to download and compile the CVS snapshot. It finally works now! @whee!
Menus are still really buggy as hell, though, but I can live with that.
Thanks everyone!
