No sound in UT

My little boys pissed because I cant get sound out of UT on his computer.
Specs
566 Celery
192 MB RAM
Intel I810 Chipset
So of course it has the Intel i810 sound(AC97)
Mandy 8.0

There is no other sound problems (cd's, xmms, system sounds, tuxracer, realplayer, etc) except in UT and the only problems I can find dealing with sound is with Aureal.Any Ideas where to look?

What WM/DE? Could it be a problem with ESD? I know UT works with aRts running, because I do it here.

I have ALSA drivers running, with OSS emulation on, so yeah. UT uses OSS, IIRC. Also, check in ~/.loki/ut/System/UnrealTournament.ini that the volume is on in your sound device (look in [Engine.Engine] for the AudioDevice, and locate that section lower in the .ini file to find the volumes -- higher than 0 should mean "on"). Check, also, that there isn't another setting in there that's set to something your sound hardware can't handle.

Other than that, I'm not really sure.... is SDL installed correctly? i.e. if you installed from source, did you configure it with audio support? Audio is almost guaranteed to be on in a prepackaged SDL, I would think.

Thanks for info. I dont believe I have any OSS emu right now, if thats necessary for UT sound then thats probably the problem.
