I got UT installed, made sure my normal account had ownership so i could run it, etc. The thing is, it doesn't work.

Couldn't set video mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual

Signal: SIGIOT [iot trap]
Aborting.
Exiting.
Name subsystem shut down

I have Mandrake 8.0, X 4.0.3, and a GeForce2 MX

Any ideas what's going on? I looked around nvidia's site for newer drivers, but they don't list anything for 8.0, only 7.2 and earlier. I tried the 7.2 drivers, and that was BAD, so i put it back to stock install condition.

I LOVE UT, and I HATE windows, so any help would be great.

Thanks in advance

You need to install the tar.gz. version of the drivers, download them and follow the instructions on this website
http://www.evil3d.net/articles/linux/howto/nvidia/mandrake7x/ Forget about the part of installing X.
Have fun, bye the way UT in Linux smokes Windows in performance ;) :D

Well, as it turns out, nvidia just updated the drivers, and added Mandrake 8.0 to the list. All went well with the install, and I got UT up and running with ease. I have three words for you...

OH

Too bad I can't get Infiltration to work in linux... maybe I should send them an email...

What kind or problems are you having with the Infiltration mod ?

I have never played Infiltration but if it's anything like

Unreal Fortress (http://www.unrealfortress.com) then download the zipped version, unzip it, su, copy the newly made UT directory to the UnrealTournament game directory (Ex. /usr/local/games/ut) and play.

Inf is a total conversion, so in Win it has it's own exe. Of course, said exe doesn't work in linux, and I haven't figured out a way to get it running.
