Hey all, I just installed 'Drake 8.0 off a fresh format. Everthing's fine except that Q3:A and Myth II: Soulblighter won't work under Glide (as well as any other Glide games I have, like GLTron or Clanbomber).

When I use the Glide_V3-DRI driver, I get an error saying "Can't find libglide2x.so: no such file or directory". When I use the Glide_V3 driver (without DRI) X will flash, like the game's about to start, my screen resolution will go from 800x600 to what looks like 640x480, and then X crashes. Everything worked fine under 'Drake 7.2, so I'm turning to you guys for help.

Thanks,
zh

PS:
Here's my rundown of specs, please let me know if there's anything else you need to know:

Dual P!!! 450MHz CPUs
128MB SDRAM
Voodoo3 3000 AGP
WDC 10.1 GB HDD
Mandrake 8.0
Xfree86 4.0.3 (w/hardware acceleration enabled)
Kernel 2.4.3
Glide_V3-DRI
Esonique (el-cheapo) Soundcard
blah, blah, blah

X4 does not support Glide2x - only Glide3x.

If you've got a Voodoo3, you will probably see better performace in X 335 anyway... you may want to consider "downgrading" X.

I had X4 and my Voodoo3 running nicely in 'Drake 7.2, I tried it once under Xf86 3.3.6, and it ran like crap! Hmmm...

Where can I get the latest Glide drivers (RPMs, please) since 3dfx is now DOA?

www.linuxvoodoo.com (http://www.linuxvoodoo.com) has them, but they say they will remove them eventually. I've put them on a ftp server I have access to here at work - ftp://ftp.santafe.cc.fl.us/Academic/Cat/linux/0index.htm

Thanks, can you keep them up until 5:30PM EST?

They are there forever, and then some. After all, the linuxvoodoo folx are saying that they will remove them at some point...

Also, if you can think of anything else I should add to that FTP site... I can't mirror any distros, but for individual packages, etc. its no problem...

Schweet. How about Loki's q00l installer? Have you tried that thing? Very neat!
