whenever i try to look for multiplayer games in ut (in win and linux apparently) the system either crashes (win ;) ) or gets inhumanly slow and i stare at a frozen screen for a long time (i usually give up after 5 min) so i need a prog to use instead of the in game browser, something like gamespy in win. any good progs? i may also get quake (1 or 3 i'm not sure) installed

Ok, i got xqf and qstat, i did the "make linux" command for qstat and then i ran the configure program for xqf and the configure program keeps saying that it can't find qstat. i tryed placeing qstat in the same folder as xqf but that didn't do anything, what do i do?

put qstat in your path eg. /usr/bin

i put qstat where? where i plan to install xqf? (witch would be in my home dir where i install other apps, a partion misunderstanding where i made 2 1.5gb partions; / and /home) and how do i tell xqf where it is? or how do i correctly install xqf to where i want it? (no docmutaion included or on their website) i'm very confused :confused:

documentation comes in the archive you downloaded. Run ./configure --help and look at the options you can use. The prefix option is the only one you would want to use to configure a different install location eg. ./configure --prefix=/home/hatecrime/apps/xqf

qstat - just put it in /usr/bin then compile xqf.

now it says:

The gtk-config script installed by GTK could not be found. If GTK was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in your path, or set the GTK_CONFIG enviroment variable to the full path to gtk-config

Problem was solved while i was making this post, but i'll leave this for other ppl who might have problems

i got qstat working by untaring it first and typing "make"

qstat -q3s 66.92.224.135:27960

I installed the rpm package whatever is on the site
xqf-0.9.11-1.i586.rpm

xqf command appeared, but when i typed it , it gave me this :

problem solved, i needed to type xqf being in the folder of qstat25c
gg
