Do I need 3d to run UT?? I have a S3 Savage4 chipset w/ 16Mb & X4.02. If I do, what librarys should I be looking for?
I don't know squat about gaming/graphics in linux (or really even windows for that matter), but I got a taste of Unreal Tournament and now I wanna run it on my box. :D
Can anybody hook me up with some good resources?

The drivers for the savage 4 in linux do not have hardware 3d support (i'm running the same card on xf86 3.3.6). In windows it should run fine (i get about ~20fps on my k6-2 sys) in metal rendering (and you won't have a problem installing the compressed textures either :) )

Mandrake 8.0 has experimental 3d hardware support using the UTAH-Glx system in Xf86 3.3.6,no idea what sort of performance you will get from the S3 savage tho!
Binned my savage in favour for an Nvidia! :)
