StarCraft/Wine/Error

I'm trying to install StarCraft by following the well known SC How-to, but I ran into the "program start menu not found" error. I have tried to follow that site's remedy for this error, but it the registery thing doesn't appear to be the same on my newer build of Wine. There doesn't appear to be any directory 'tree' in the user.conf file and I tried typing in what that page said, but to no avail. I've created the folders it says and the permissins are all set right. The article isn't consistant with its usage of Capital/lower case folder names. Sometimes it is c: sometimes C: etc.

Any ideas?
