Anybody with a need for an AMS Laptop.
366 AMDK62
64Mb Ram
Floppy
24X CD
13.1" Screen
4.3 GB Hard Drive
Battery still works well.
Or a Compaq Armada
200 Mhz
64Mb Ram
I think its a 4 gig HD
I think the screen size is around 13"
CD and Floppy (modular)
Docking Station with built in ethernet and CDrom or Floppy Bay plus the usual mouse, keyboard, video, USB, serial and parallel ports.
Fairly new battery.
Both in really good shape and full working order. Picks to those that want to see.
Still havent determined price as I dont usually sell stuff I keep it until its to the point of extreme obselescence than toss it, but I have 2 New Dells and one of these is collecting dust and the other one my wife uses for work but shes going to take over a Dell of mine.

I'd be interested in either one (though the 366 more than the 200) once you set a price...then I can see if I can afford it :)

I'd be interested to know if any of those has a working PCMCIA and Ethernet controller for Linux and/or BSD

Got a couple IBMs and Etherlink III's (PCMCIA) that any version of linux will detect. And Im including the 56 (PCMCIA)modem in the AMS that will work with linux.
One oddball thing about the AMS though. If you boot from cd to install any version of Linux, except for FreeBSD which has no problem, it goes through the cdrom boot, detects hard drive and cdrom drive right, displays correct type of CDRom, wich is some sort of matsu****a but then fails to find it after. Wont find it as "Installation Medium". Ive got around this by using the floppy to boot, then mount CD with Slack which didnt seem to have a problem with this and the CD works fine after install. Dont quite understand why, must be some sort of hardware incompatibility with the CD boot kernel I guess. You could prolly pass some kernel param before the boot to get by this too, just dont know what.

The laptop I have right now has a recognized NIC, but the PCMCIA controller is not. So I can't use the card.

I myself probably can't afford these, so I will stop asking for a price, but to the people that are still interest: perhaps you should offer a price, and chikn can work from there. I can assume that he doesn't want to get screwed so he's meticulously pricing all of the components in the computers...or he's just a jerk ;)
But probably not....
