External DSL Modem

I have a brand new DSL modem that I would like to get rid of...but I don't have a clue as to how much its worth. I've moved and DSL is not in my new area.

How much would it be worth to somebody?

I would get the specs later when I get home!

I forgot to mention it works with Win9x/Me and Win2000 along with Linux Mandrake 8.0 without any problems.

The one for sale is brand new, still in box!

my dad says they are going to "give" him one as part of his year contract.

*shrug* he's also thinking about doing cable instead now.

hey, saying an external modem is compatible with multiple OSs is like saying cat5 cable is compatible with multiple OSs. unless it's a USB modem there is no compatibility issue with any pc, just with the DSL network it's on.

I had this modem with my last dsl line. Sorry, but it is crap. It needs special software on the PC for it to even work, and you can't use a router with it. Half the time it didn't sync properly.

my speedstream 5260 works just fine, been running through my coyotelinux boxen since january, i had to shut it off saturday for the first time in months, no problems with it here

Doh, I apologize, if you aretalking about the internal modem. That one I've heard is fine. If it's the external, USB version, thatone sucks.

This one for sale is an external Ethernet non USB crapola modem. It works great, I even setup my own network wit 2 other puters and no problems! It setup the DSL using MDK 8.0 without downloading nothing special.
