i'm a little rusty on specifications (my a+ book is at home); i know i need two PCI nics for building a router (that's what the freesco instructions recommended anyway for ease of hookup). the third one will be for my phat linux box for the future, off the top of my head i can't think of what other type other than PCI there are...

i'm not so worried about the third, but the two nics i could use asap, i got my cable modem today and i wanna try out building the router/gateway this weekend.

also, sorta relaated if anyone knows, old network cards (5 years or so) aren't gonna be much different from newer ones are they? AFAIK ethernet network speeds haven't changed since i started college.

I only have one extra nic, it's a Realtek 8029as. IT's PCI, 10bt, and I'm pretty sure it's supported in freesco. $8 shipped. I just checked, there is an SCO Unix driver.
