Just got a new comp here at work, and it has no ISA slots. So the old modem I had (isa) has to be replaced. Since I am stuck with Win2k here at the office, I can easily use a winmodem.
I have a 33.6 ISA modem with jumpers (works great in Linux) that I'd be willing to trade, each side pays for shipping.

are you wanting another 33.6? or 56k?

Either, as long as it works in Win2k, and is PCI. I am behind a pbx, so a 56k connect isn't possible. Hardly ever used it, since I normally am plugged into the phiber http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

I've got a US Robotics, 56k winmodem (model #5699) that i would be overjoyed to get rid of. I dont need the 33.6 modem (ahh... DSL http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif) but what else do you have to trade? by the way, it is PCI.

Don't really have anything else to trade... although I do have a TON of ISA network cards, both 3Com and SMC's.

Hell, I got one and Win2k picks it up and it is usable. It worked 3 months ago.
I can try it again before I send it to make sure.
If you want it, it is yours free. ;)

Gweedo - if it is PCI , you got a deal. I can even cover your shipping via paypal or something. Or, I can send you some NICs.
Spickus - you got a PCI modem to trade, if Gweedo's deal falls thru?
