Picked up a spar5 to play with(studying for a cert, solaris) and I need 32 more meg of memory for it, any ideas on a place to get it cheap would be appreciated. I also have a ton of hardware to trade if someone has some and wants to get rid of it in trade.

Price Watch (http://www.pricewatch.com)
What type of RAM, DIMMS, I assume?

They are dimms, but special ones. It is not interchangeable. And if you will go look at pricewatch for memory for the bugger, you will understand. It costs as much as the computer. That is why I was looking for used memory.

you're in a bit of a bind, sparc memory is known for being expensive. a friend of mine has a 10 with over 200 meg, and the RAM is worth more than the rest of the system combined.
i had/have a sparcstation2. does that use the same memory? i lent it to a friend, but i'm not sure if he's using it. i'll look into it for you, if you want.
how many dimm slots do you have open? if you're looking for one 32 meg one, i can't help you. mine are all 8's i think.
did you check e-bay?

You're welcome! I haven't ordered from them yet... but I'm looking to get a pair of the 64mb sticks for my SS10
I found them on eBay... they do have a good rating there.

It's the giving community of unix and linux users that rules....
I have started moving towards unix for my career(you have to understand the fact that I am a mcse, cna). Linux was the breakpoint. I got interested in it, and seeing that it was so good, I have tried out unix and true power is within my reach. MORE POWER!!!!. Going to begin my cert for solaris, for which I bought the old box in the first place....Anyway, may the two of you find happiness, one getting rid of old stuff, the other increasing the power of their old box. ;)

and...... i found it! :D
There is a matching pair. However I have no idea how much memory it is. Got a good link I could dig around on and check it out? Other wise when I have time I can swap them in my SS10 and figure it out that way.
