Hey guys, I've got a sweet little laptop for sale here. It's a Toshiba 720CDT.

133Mhz Pentium
80mb ram (16mb onboard, 64mb upgrade)
2.1gb hard drive
12.1" active matrix TFT
28.8 modem on board
Swapable 6X CDROM/floppy (floppy also has an external case)

This thing is very nice. I've been using it for quite awhile for school, and now I would like to pass it on. I've been running Win98 on it very successfully, and have actually never loaded linux. This laptop is in awesome condition with the only defect being the right latch is missing the knob (it still latches and unlatches, it's just missing the knob).

The screen is absolutely the best for an older laptop. It's very bright, and has a native resolution of 1024x768! Also, the PCMCIA card slots are 32-bit supporting cardbus, which is very nice...

I also have the docking station (Desk Station V Plus) that will add a lot of weight to the shipping, but is a very nice item. It has a bay for the swapable floppy to mount inside, as well as a 5.25" IDE bay for HHD or extra cdrom, etc. It has on board speakers, SCSI (external), two sets of two Type-II PCMCIA card slots, and three PCI/ISA expansion card slots. (I have a intel 10/100 NIC in one of them right now, I was planning on not shipping it with that, but we can make arrangements if need be.) The docking station also has the normal two PS/2 ports, serial, parallel, etc.

This is a great laptop and has served me really well, and now I need to pass it on. I'm looking for serious buyers, and will only trade on higher end hardware (I have no use for socket-7 mobos :P).

I forgot to mention that the battery is very new, I replaced it, and it gets outstanding battery life (2-3 hours under heavy use).

Make me some offers, or if you have anymore questions, feel free. My email is chasegeek@yahoo.com

Anyone? Well, if nobody is interested, will someone please tell me what they think it's worth? I went in to a local computer shop (ironicly, the one I used to work at!), and they had the same unit at $550. The battery life on those wasn't as good as this one, and they were in overall worse condidtion. I asked one of the guys that worked there where they got them from, and it was a business that upgraded, and sold the laptops to the store. Also, I hae the docking station with mine, which I'm told is a $50 - $150 part.

I didn't think it was worth that much, but I was thinking around $400 for everything. Anyone else have any ideas?

Im not an expert on laptops by any means, but from what Ive seen on other boards, and even ebay, this is a little too steep for such old hardware, try dropping teh price $50 or so and mabye you'll get some bites :). Note, not messing with your sale just advising, Ill delete the message after you read it if you want me to. :)

Yeah, that is a bit too steep for that lappy. I bought a Dell Lattitude CP Pentium II MMX, 233mhz, 128mg ram, 8gig HDD, onboard sound, 56k modem, power supply, all cables, and OS for $475. I hate saying it, but I think the reason that was so expensively priced is because that computer vendor is like so many others out there (including one i used to work at). They thrive on selling people their first computer, because that is how they are able to sell a computer for such high prices. When you buy that first computer, you dont know what a good deal is.

So would $300 be a good price? I'm open to negotiation.

I think $300 would be pretty fair.. That said I'm broke as hell and nto really looking, just agreeing that it sounds fair. :)

I too am not looking for a laptop, but I do have a friend who is, she'll be going off to college soon and Im helping her shop, she hasnt given me the specs that the college has sent her yet though. Ill talk to her asap and Ill see what kind of power she needs, shes just an english major so it cant be much :) If you find another buyer before I get back to you though, dont worry about me, shes always putting things off and deserves to lose :)
