I dont know if they make these or not but i have a old cga monitor and would like to see if there is a card out there that i could get to get this working as a monitor on my 486 Compaq Porsignia VS. im using this a a gateway/firewall for my home network. it has i think ISA slots but im not sure. they are long and brown and the modem that is in it chips face up. i think it might be EISA but i dont really know. but i was wondering if there was any thing i could get to put in there to get this monitor working.

Well, I pretty much dislike ebay most of the time for buying, and can't see spending $12 for a CGA card, but here's a last resort option. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1210157130

You can probably find someone selling an old 286 at a garage sell or a thrift shop or something that would have one too.. Or, someone on LNO might have on, you should ask there ... oh yeah, this is LNO

Would that card work in my box? It doesnt say what type of card it is. im new to hardware stuff. like i said the slots in this thing are long brown and the card that is in it has pins not the normal looking stuff that just slides in.

ISA EISA and VESA LB slots can all accept ISA cards.
any cga video card you find would probably be ISA, although i guess if you found the right museum, you could get a VLB or EISA CGA card, but i doubt it

that being a compaq my guess is you are describing a VLB slot, but when you say it has pins on the "sides" i am not sure

can't be MCA because only IBM did that

has many diagrams of different mobo's
see if you can find something like what you have and let us know
