This would be a great help to those of us who are considering taking the plunge but are afraid.

I'm replying to this message from my Sony VAIO lappie running redhat 6.2. Just wanted to suggest that you might find some documentation for your particular laptop on www.linuxdoc.or (http://www.linuxdoc.or) in the HOWTO section (check the mini HOWTOs also). Although, I do agree that it would be a nice idea to consolidate all this information (there are many other resources out there in the void) and create a new laptop NHF section. Have you checked the vendor's page for any info?

Best,

Thats not a bad idea...

Since so many laptops differ and have their own very unique problems.

Considering more people are testing linux on laptops because their laptops tend to be the weaker machine, they want something faster and more stable. So naturally there will be a growing need for a place to ask linux laptop questions other than just the linux laptop howto...

good idea...

I have some good info (ripped from various sources out there in the void) that I'll post on the Sony VAIO lappies as soon as the new forum is open.
