hey sensei: anything happening about that idea for a PHP/MySQL BBS?

I had heard you talking about this before, and UBB keeps on messing things up, and ubb code doesn't always work right...

Just wondering if this is gonna happen or not? I know phpBB is pretty nice, although I don't know if there's any kind of import utility for UBB

Well UBB definitely served its purpose, but its upgradeability, expandability at this point is not holding its own.

I've tried to talk to who I'm supposed to talk too about changing the BBS over to vbulletin (Don't trust phpBB yet, even though it has some very nice features! Vbulletin rocks though too.

I was told some upper heads said no to the decision to use a MYSQL/PHP based bbs. This is what I was told. They may change their stance on this in the coming weeks, I don't know though and I don't want to speak for anyone at Internet.com.

There is not a trustable import script ready yet anyways. Once vbulletin goes gold (any day now) they will ahve an import script for this version of UBB ready. I will press the issue when the time comes.
