Hi im almost a total newbie to linux and I thought I might be a good idea for me to document the entire introduction to linux process. I plan to install suse 7.1 and mandrake 8.0. I belive that this will help absolute nebie's who can find your help files a little hard to swallow. Its only and idea but I think it could be cool. what do you all think?

the diary stuff on kuro5hin (http://www.kuro5hin.org/) seems to be fairly popular... might make a better avenue for that kinda thing than the "how i did it" forum.

I nearly did the same, but when I thought of how many different things are involved in getting a distro up and running, sorting out your desktop, installing apps, updating things, I shied off.

To make it really usefull though, you would have to put allot of effort into it, and be quite thorough.

Still it's a good idea if you have the time and the desire.

I gave a similar idea some thought. A guided intro to a linux distro, but from a newbies perspective, not a veterens. :)

Then I got to thinking that I might end up leading people the wrong way.

A_M is right though, to do it justice would involve a lot of time and effort.
