our class is using Dietel & Dietel "an object oriented approach to c++"

im definatly not crazy about it at all. I just want more of a referance type book, then a lessons based book. This thing is also very expensive, like over 100$ !
can anyone recomend anything thats more of a referance style for <= 100$ ?

Off the top of my head, I'd say check you RH installation. If it contains Kdevelop, you have c/c++ documentation. Otherwise, do a web search for "c++ reference". You'll find some sites with on-line reference manuals. If you search long enough, you may even find a downloadable (ie free) one.
