Yo,
I have a problem. my relatives (mostly kids) came to my house for this week and they have been using my computer. They really ****ED it up. I had to reformat windows and install it again.Guess what. I'm sure you always get questions like this, but windows has written over the Boot Loader thingie (GRUB) and i don't know how to reinstall it again.
HELP NEEDED.
Thanx!!!!!!!!! :)

get your boot disk (you did make one, right?) put it in, boot to linux, and then I guess you'd have to either reinstall GRUB, or just run it. Don't know, I'm a LILO guy.
but you get the picture

the question here is how do i reinstall it or run it. I would rather run it, if it fixes everything becuase it was hard to set it up to boot all three (Win95, WinmE and Redhat) OS's.
HELP!!

i think if you use your bootdisk, or use the linux CD's in "rescue mode"
once you can access the command line just do
grub-install it should go ok

I had the same thing happen to me. If you made a boot disk it will boot Linux for you. I was too chicken to try to reinstall GRUB to the MBR. So I just use the disk to boot to linux. One word of advice though. Make more than one boot floppy. If your only one goes bad your only other choice is to boot from the cd.

Check out Caldera Systems Knowledge base. Look for the article "Zen and the Art of Using Grub". It gives good instructions on how to install grub.
Also, along with keeping a boot disk on hand, you might consider setting up loadlin in your windows partition. Any time you need to boot Linux, boot windows into DOS mode and launch Linux from there. Saves the hassle of keeping track of boot disks.
