It's not entirely in C, though. Jeremy pier 01-28-2001, 10:32 PM Mastering Algorithms in C is an O'reilly book that is helpful. It covers data encryption(DES,RSA), data compression (LZ77 to name one), binary search trees, search and sort algorithms, trees, stacks and queues, routing algorithms. If there is a microcenter around you, go there. Always have great books. The better ones are extremely expensive. Look for books on parallel processing, and distributed computing. They usually provide a lot. ------------------ "we ought not concern philosophy with metaphysics, but with mathematics."-Boole (almost wordforword) binaryDigit 01-28-2001, 11:29 PM well i have to admit i got impatient and didn't wait very long after i started this topic to go to amazon and order myself a book on c data structures and algorithms. it looks promising. i should have mentioned that i live in humboldt county. no real computer stores. only real book store is walden books. well at least walden books has a decent linux section and carries Linux magazine and Maximum Linux magazine. however i've noticed a decline in c programming books. all i see is c++. hmmmmm.. why is that. anyways thanks for any input, i'll let you guys know how the book i'm getting is. ------------------ http://home.earthlink.net/~pebice justlinux.com
