a thought crossed my mind the other day, and i tried to research it, but couldn't find any information that helped, so i was wondering if anyone else has heard of doing this...

i want to compile a perl script into a statically linked binary, either linux, or win32... preferably win32, as my current project has to be done for a win32 client.

any ideas?

There's a chapter in Advanced Perl Programming about embedding the Perl interpreter - I haven't read it yet (school's been occupying my reading time!), but I know it can be done - might be worth looking into.

optech:

There is a perl compiler available for windows, but not linux. It costs $$, though... http://www.activeperl.com/Products/Perl_Dev_Kit/

Check that out, ya mug. (^=
