Hello there. I am a former MS junkie who is trying to switch to linux. It is all working out fine, except the internet connection (which will be soon solved by DSL...stupid prodigy!) and my favorite IDE for C++, Dev C++ by bloodshed software. I like this one because it is easy to use, and as I am not very advanced yet, this is a good place to learn. However, Dev C++ for linux is not available anymore, and KDevelop is too advanced for me to figure out. So, I either need help finding a easy to use IDE, or figure out how to use KDevelop effectively. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

It's always worth learning how to use a good tool, if KDevelop is good then do persevere in learning how to use it. There is litle point in learning how to use an inferior product if you have access to the better one.

What does everyone else think, is KDevelop worth spending some time to learn how to use?

I was a visual basic user in windows and came
to linux with a heart break. There seemed to
be no good programs for linux to do "visual graphic programing".
Then I looked at qt in the KDE dev. part of my distro.
I did not like it at first. but then decided i did not like
it because I was use to something els. change is not easy, just change.
KDE has a good graphic interface with qt designer and
it works fine. Use the KDE tools and just put your mind to
the fact you cant get a better tool so learn what you have.
Hope this helped.
