After months of neglecting Mandrake 8.0 I have finally gotten back around to geting it working. My first serious project is to install netatalk, so I can share files/print services with my iMac (at least it aint windows). I was able to download the .tar from sourceforge without any problems, and was even able to untar it successfully.

The problem is that I have no idea how what to do next. When I untared the file, there were no man pages, only a single file, which I am unable to execute. There is not much information at Netatalk's sourceforge page either. Mandrake User.org has some documentation, which is how I found out about Netatalk. However, the documentation assumes that I downloaded a RPM, which I was not able to find. I have found a few howtos, but they assume that I have been working with Linux for a while, which I have not. If anybody could provide some assistance, I would appreciate it.

Might be a bin file that untared not sure if it only one file. In any event it would prolly be easier to go to rpmfind.net and download the Mandrake rpm. Link below

Here's a nice article (http://www.samag.com/documents/s=1441/sam0111g/sam0111g.htm) that may give you some ideas.

Thanks for the assistance chikn. I was able to get the RPM without any problems. After runing urpmi, I discovered that there were several library dependancies that I either didn't have, or didn't have the latest version. I'll try again after upgrading to Drake 8.2 (on order), and keep y'all up to date on my progress.
