Have my printer attached to my Win2K Pro computer on a home network.I share it with my other puters running Windows without a problem.I have Linux Mandrake 8.2 on one of the other puters. I would like to be able to use the Win2K printer from the machine running Linux.
I added "TCP/IP Print services" and enabled it.
I also added a TCP/IP port for the printer.
Using Printer Drake in Mandrake I used "lpr" printer and set it up with the Host name & the printer name of the printer on the Win2K puter. I don't receive any error messages but when I try a test page nothing happens on the W2K printer.
What am I missing?

Was the correct printer driver installed by Mandrake? Sometimes it doesn't have an exact match, so it goes with its "best guess", which often is no good.

If that's not the answer, my second suggestion would be check the network path. Often the job never makes it to the printer, but you never see an error msg.

Hope that helps...
