I have a firewall setup and FTP running, so that I can access the firewall from my internal network. I have all other IPs denied at this time. I was wondering if there is a way to eliminate the "half-open" connection that is there. When the service is not running at all, a user will get a message that says "Connection refused" (or something similar), but currently if someone trys to FTP to my machine it allows a connection momentarily then the firewall closes the connection. Is there anyway for me to display "Connection refused" so other outside users are not aware that I am running the FTP service.
I may change this later, but I would like to do something like this for now.
Thank you in advance,
Tall Paul
