I am in the process of converting my work laptop from win200 to MDK8.2. I log onto a windows NT domain at work, so I can access shares and printers. How do I go about logging onto a NT domain with samba, so that I can use my work printers and shares ??? :(

There's another post on LNO titled "Use smbclient or LinNeighborhood as non-root user" under Networking Linux.
It describes using smbmount from the command line and the LinNeighborhood GUI utility to access Microsoft Networking shares. Use the man pages for smbmount, smbmnt, smbumount and smbclient for details on how to use them. You can download LinNeighborhood from
http://freshmeat.net/projects/linneighborhood/?topic_id=150
I also access Windows printers from my Linux machine at work. I just set them up as a queue type of Windows Printer(SMB share) in the Red Hat Printer Configuration GUI and provide the pertinent information. I haven't had any problems accessing them.
