I know that there are better ftp clients out there, but where could I find the source for the ftp program that is usually installed by default on most systems?
Apparently, LFS doesn't include that in their packages...

LFS Hint for ftp (http://hints.linuxfromscratch.org/hints//ftp.txt)
haven't tried it yet, but this could work. if it does, please post your experience with it as I'm engaged in my first LFS creation right now.... :D

Thanks for the link. I use wget all the time, but I've never tried lukemftp. Maybe I don't need the original ftp after all..

Just to update:
I tried lukemftp... It's like the original, but cooler: it has a progresss indicator at the bottom of it!
 lukemftp
I'd recommend it to everyone who uses CLI ftp clients. Thanks for the link, Growler!

I'm thoroughly enjoying my first LFS install, so I'm glad the lukemftp hint was useful.
