Password management with Samba

Is there anyway to allow win9X users to have control over their password from within windows? I've tried just using the passwords utility within the control panel, but it doesn't work - unless there is a setting within the samba config that is required to make it work.

I've been told that this is possible, but cannot find how to do it without an NT server.

I believe it can work like this: Right click on the folder you want to share, select sharing, then select full sharing and a place is provided to type in your password.
