I recently purhcased a pair of Lucent Orinoco Gold PCMCIA wireless cards and a PCI adapter. I've read a few articles that explain how I can use the PC card (via PCI adapter) as an ehternet interface and IP masq. between them. I've been running ipchains on a linux gateway for a few years and understand the basics.

Can I add the wireless interface to a gateway box that already has routing between eth0 and eth1?

I'm also considering doing this at work, but I would like to stay on the same network and not a dedicated wireless subnet. Is this feasible?

Yes, but I think you mean Masq not routing unless you have all public ips

Yes, you can do that with some routing trickery, and the the correct rules. I would not expose the rest of the lan to the wireless interface, without locking down the rules. I still would run it on a seperate lan, but that is just me. If you want I can walk you through the steps, email me as this might get long winded and I'll need to know some rather private info that you may not want to share with others. I have something like that running now, just not with wireless.
