I use Southwestern Bell DSL to connect to the Internet. I have tried RP-PPPoE software to connect to the modem and obtain an IP address without luck. Any suggestions? I know I'm not the only guy with SWB DSL.

Is your ethernet adapter properly configured?
ifconfig should report something about ethx where is x some number likely 0.
Do you have the right username? For me it is: ELN/swv3752@earthlink.net
Without the ELN it won't work. Your's will be something different and may not be necessary. Are there any indicator lights on your DSL modem? Do they flash when you attempt to connect? Keep trying we will get you up and running.
