I've been wanting to give eDirectory for Linux a try one day, but never seem to have the time.

What problems are you having?

Well then....
1.first you have to check whether the host for multicast routing is enabled, you do that by : /bin/netstat -nr
And you should get the following answer: 244.0.0.0 host_ip_address
But I get something completly different! :-(

Then if the entry is not present you should do the following thing:
route add *interface -netmask "240.0.0.0" " "244.0.0.0" host_name

But it doesn't work....

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I'm not always here at LNO. Lately I've only been spending an hour or so before I leave for work in the morning. Getting a little behind on my own work/projects.

If I have time today at work, I will try to have a look into your problem.

But it doesn't work....

How doesn't it work? Any error messages?

I had a look around Novell's site and didn't find anything similar to what you have attempted so far. What documentation are you following?

Did you try Novell's knowledgebase or forums? Not sure if they have one for eDirectory, but you may be able to find one or similar and post your questions concerning the configuration problem.

Well i'm sorry too.... I had a bad day!

I'm using Novell's manuals, and right now I'm browsing through the knowledgebase and forums @ Novell!

I'll get back to you soon! :)
