Does you isp use dhcp? Is the nic seen by linux? What kind of nic. What have you tried? Eggman 03-01-2001, 07:49 PM my isp uses dhcp, and my nic is seen by linux, i'v put the info in the linuxconfig that a howto gave me but i'm not sure if,it was wrong or i put in the wrong information. neffu 03-01-2001, 09:27 PM Go into linuxconf, select the Network Tab then Basic Host Information. Select Adapter 1(assuming you only have one NIC installed) and select Enable and DHCP. Make sure you have the right kernel module for your NIC. Accept and activate all the changes. Power off your cable modem for 30 seconds. At a command prompt type: /etc/rc.d/init.d/./network restart (as root). You should have ethX initialize successfully. Good Luck! justlinux.com
