Well, as stated in the topic, I'm trying to get remote X stuff done through my firewall. I'm thinking I might give VNC a shot, but it might not be an option (don't ask). Here's the problem.
My simple and not-so-elegant solution was to do this - forward an X session from the firewall to my local box, start up an Xterm there and then forward an X session from the outside world to that forwarded display. There's only one minor snag - I DON'T HAVE X ON THE FIREWAL!! Gah, what a letdown. I'm not putting X on the firewall, so that is out. I can't use ssh's X11 Forwarding because the servers I'm accessing aren't running sshd (though I'll see what I can do).
Ooooh... you know, I haven't even tried exporting my own firewalls external IP and seeing if that worked, maybe I'll give that a shot.
