Look in /var/log/messages for your net interface card to determine whether your kernel recognizes it.
in linuxconf, in the networking > host section, check to make sure that the module for your card is being loaded on boot-up.
man ifconfig <-- you will want to know how to set up eth0
man route <-- you will want to know how to set up routing
search the board's archive.
Until you've actually tried some things and can tell us what step you're on we are going on not very much.
also: make sure resolv.conf has your nameservers and search domain.

What type of network are you setting up, i.e. do you need DHCP support or static IP's, and are you connecting to the internet?

hello triplehex and ASCII Blue...
my network at campus using Novell and WinNT, but i rather use Linux than using them. I think static IP rather than Dynamic one, and I connect to Internet using Proxy Server.
