ok, I am running redhat 7.1 and i got my pci hardware modem to work just fine, then when i installed my NIC (linksys lne100tx) the dial up connection just didnt work anymore. [when i installed the NIC i set the ip to 192.168.0.1 and subnet to 255.255.255.0 and everything seemed to work fine, i could ping others on the network and they could ping me etc.] I am using kppp to dialup and it goes through the normal dialing and connecting and says that it is connected, but when i try to use any internet programs it just acts like there is no connection at all. i have tried pinging ip's and url's but i get no response from either. thanks

Sound like when you setup the internal network you made a default gateway on its interface. This is not required to talk to the lan. As per pppd rules, when you dial out pppd can no longer set the default route when the link comes up.
