I have read throught the other forums about the IDENTD requirement tor IRC servers.
My setup has win 9x boxes behind a RedHat 7.0 firewall / forwarding (IPchains) system.
It would all be well and good if I could make the changes to inetd.conf, except it has been replaced in 7.0 by xinetd.conf - a more scriptish file than its predecessor. I also see the there is an xinetd.d DIR that seems to contain a file for each service run by (x)inetd.
Any clues?
I also need to find out if prt 113 is open or not, and if not I need to open it.
