I'm running apache 1.3.14 on Slackware Linux w/ 2.2.18 kernel. My internet connection is 1.5M/256K

I have observed that my no more than 2 files can be downloaded from my apache web server simultaneously. I have tried this from local boxes, remote and combinations of both. Regardless of file size, or actual download speed, no more than 2 files can be downloaded from the server at any time.

I don't think this is an internet-bandwidth issue, since it is also repeatable from my home LAN (100mbit switched, faster or course).

BTW: hardware running this is:
K6III/400
128MB RAM
UW SCSI HDD

I doubt my hardware is limiting this either.

Any thoughts?

I believe this is a restriction set by apache, but I could be wrong. Try looking in the httpd.conf file.

IE has this problem, what client are you using?

At work I'm using IE. (was DL some mp3s when I noticed).

I'm going to play around with lynx, netscape and IE - all on various boxes and see if it's repeatable with all those combinations.
